I'm not sure why you're seeing 100% CPU usage. (What I said about Flash was something I'd heard and now that I think about it it may have been that Flash in Director uses 100% CPU.) I have to admit, I never look at CPU usage. For me, it's a case of ignorance is bliss. Is there a reason that you're concerned about

Hi there, I have noticed a fairly high CPU usage lastly, and I would like to ask you guys if this is the normal behavior. When watching Live TV in MC (windowed) the CPU is usually about 50%. I remember earlier posts claiming about 18 to 20% CPU usage with Live TV. This is my system info: HP 873N MC PC 768 MB RAM

On my desktop, where Money is usually used, I also search for extraterrestrials, so the CPU usage is essentially always at 100%. Any cycles not getting used by Money or whatever else get soaked up by SETI@home. Of course the system doesn't get louder or I might not do this. On my Sony R505, I would find the noise

Money 2003 Basic sends cpu usage to 100%
OK, thank you for the explanation. Do you only have one CPU? If you're seeing 130% on a single cpu system we may need to take some steps to improve the reporting. No, actually this is AMD Athlon64 X2, so dualcore, so may I assume 130% is OK for dualcore? -- Best regards, Daniel mailto:dan...@FreeBSD.org.

It
is possible for the sum of all threads in the system to exceed 100% cpu. This is because the decay function is not precise. 15% over is a bit more than I would expect but I suppose it's possible. It is my understanding that CT w/UIB would only perform indexing when the CPU is idle and resources are available. By switching to this method, I thought the overall performance would improve. If
you try Win98 or ME on the same system you will get half or less then half for the CPU usage because in Win2k HD Tach runs the test over the complete drive, but in Win98/ME it only runs it on the first 8gigs, so the results look better. I don't know why it does this. Maybe someone else reading this does.
